  • A Note from the Artist:
    The papercraft theme was really pushed in Dark Flight and continues in to Drawn 3 Trail of Shadows as well. We started with the idea that we wanted to give some backstory about Iris and her family. I liked the idea of a street performer who puppeteers these stories inside a little cart. Of course the puppeteer is stuck inside a painting and must first be freed so that he can operate the show. The player must cut his shape out and he peels off of the wall and goes from two-dimensions to three. This animated effect done by the wonderful Mike Baran is one of my favorites of the game. Hamzah and I worked on this piece from a storyboard I did. I ended up doing the final painting and it went on to be included in the Into The Pixel exhibition that year.
