  • The legend of the siren came to be after after a sailor, rescued from almost drowning, recollected having listened to a sorrowful melody, coming from the bottom of the sea. To brush this close with death, some argued, gave the man memories of distant times; of his first lover, of his caring sister, of being cradled by his mother.

    The man was never the same; having delusions, every day he swan farther from the coast, trying to recapture the sweet sound he once listened. He was constantly saved by his comrades, his lungs full of seawater, and eyes full of tears.

    Deep down below, the lady waited.
