Descriptions

  • This twin-engine airliner (with 14-21 seats) is a replica of American airplane Douglas DC-3. In 1938 on the basis of US license Soviet factories initiated batch production of the aircraft. At first the plane was produced under the name PS-84, but in September 1942 it was renamed to Li-2 (after Boris Lisunov - Chief Engineer at the factory). The aircraft proved to be a reliable troop and cargo carrier, and thanks to its efficiency and simplicity of use became very popular. It was utilized for various purposes both on front and rear during WWII .
