• When the Aratus broke the terran fleet around [LOCATION REDACTED] and proceeded to attack the mining colony of Nupitt, it was the serpentine construct -- nicknamed ‘Hydra’ -- that did the most damage to the colony itself. With its massive front grinding protrusions, the Hydra was able to tunnel through nearly impenetrable dense-core asteroid and plasteel walls with ease, until the colonies primary housing asteroids were in pieces and only a handful of free-floating habitats remained.
  
  The Hydra’s outer shell was found to be immune to most conventional ship’s weapons, and the military was forced to resort to using Graviton Condensers, only to discover that the entity was able to break up into multiple segments--sloughing off dead segments and growing new ‘grinders’ on the front, and propulsion biologies on the back.
  
  Unfortunately, the resultant gravitational disruption further slowed and endangered the evacuation effort.
