Without strife your victory has no meaning, without strife you do not advance, without strife there is only stagnation. Unless the victory is achieved by demonstrating your power, it is only an illusion,

And blood-black nothingness began to spin. A system of cells interlinked, within cells interlinked, within cells interlinked within one stem. And dreadfully distinct against the dark, a tall white fountain played.

One man looks at a dying bird and thinks there is nothing but unanswered pain, that death's got the final word. It's laughing at him. Another man sees that same bird and sees the glory. Sees something smiling through it.

Inventas vitam iuvat excoluisse per artes

I take refuge in the Buddha, wishing for all sentient beings to understand the great Way profoundly and make the greatest resolve. I take refuge in the Dharma, wishing for all sentient beings to delve deeply into Satori (enlightenment), causing their wisdom to be as broad as the sea. I take refuge in the Sangha, wishing all sentient beings to lead the congregation in harmony, entirely without obstruction
