i think if i grew wings i too would fly too close to the sun. the story of icarus is a testament to humanity: with our enlightenment we fly away from our natural instincts & our mortality trying to reach the same knowledge of the heavens. and we burn ourselves away, drain our minds, damage our bodies, and corrupt our souls. and they say icarus laughed as he fell, with his seared wings. and perhaps his view as he fell, and the wind on his face gave him the same sensation of flying. or, there's a chance icarus knew what would result of his actions, and did it anyway. if that were to be true his story seems stupid, a tale about blind pride. but, like icarus was, human beings are mortal creatures. we all reach the same destination one day; we all fall back down to earth. so why not fly too close to the sun while you can still fly? why not fly as high as you can and feel the harsh sunlight on your skin? burn and crash. don't you go gently; you were made to soar.
