if there is meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering - victor frankl
If you find yourself lost, if you find that your life is going nowhere and that you have nothing to live for, then at least hear me out. I don't know you personally so I can't speak as to what it is that's hurled you into this nihilistic pit of despair. Perhaps it's an illness that's incapacitated you, perhaps it's the loss of someone you held dear, perhaps you just can't get over that certain person or event that's changed your life forever. Whatever the reason, some of you reading this now may find yourselves wayward, lost, and hopeless. Firstly, you are not alone in this world, no one is.
The mere fact that you're reading this right now means that you're a human being, that you share in the same human dignity, the same intrinsic worth that we all do. I know I'm just some random stranger on the internet, but believe it or not I care about you, regardless of where you're from or who you are. And that's why I'm writing to you now, whoever you are, to let you know that no matter how grim life may appear, how hard things have become, there is still so much beauty out there and so much life worth to live. You're lost? You're lonely? You're afraid? It's in moments like these, moments of desperation, moments of anguish that you can truly look inward to discover who you are. "It was in the depth of winter that I learned within me there lay an invincible summer." - Albert Camus
This, right now, might be your winter. You may find yourself freezing to death with anxiety and despair, but deep within you, you know that a part of you wants to keep moving forward. Deep inside of you, you know that there's still so much more out there to be experienced, so much more out there to be seen. The desire for self-preservation is more than just biological. I know that you can keep moving forward and deep down you know it too. There's an unquenchable fire inside of you that desires to keep living, to keep fighting, to keep learning, creating, and growing. I believe you can keep going, and deep down, so do you.
